My name is Anne Chapman and I'd like to welcome you to the site. Here is my story....
When Javid and I met we realised life was too short to spend every work day apart from one another, so we looked for other ways to make a living. We decided on trading and Javid, being far more focused than I was at the time, really went all-out to make it happen. He attended many, many courses and finally settled on Forex and started to develop some amazing strategies. Initially, each time he attended a course he showed me what he had learned so I could trade too.
It was hard work fitting it around a full time job and I never felt overly confident until he started learning about currency - then I felt like someone had switched the lights on! Being able to ‘piggy-back’ from all his knowledge, I found it really easy to learn and to trade. Within a few months I felt confident that my trading was consistent enough to leave my job – so I did!
This was a really big step for me, as I highly valued the stability my work environment provided (as well as all the people there!). Trading properly, and relying on it for my income, was a whole new ball game and I really need to be mentally strong. While Javid seems to have that automatically (although in fact he learned it the hard way, through trial and error!) it didn’t come easily for me. He really helped keep me focused on trading, rather than all the irrelevant stuff that seems to go on in your brain about making money. Clearly, making money is the end game but that comes automatically when you concentrate on being an excellent trader.
The psychology of trading has an enormous appeal to me – I’ve seen so many people just give up because they feel it’s beyond them. The technical side really isn’t that difficult if you’re just trading a strategy – it’s more complex if you want to create your own strategies, as Javid does, but you don’t need to go to that level if you don’t want to (I certainly don’t!).
Actually trading your own money does require a complete mental shift for most people, however, so do be warned!! So said, we created this site in order for people to compare their own analysis to ours. The advantage of this is that you at least have confidence that technically you’re on the right path, and the knock-on is that you’ll have more confidence to see the trade through (i.e. less likely to fall at the final hurdle).
